What
paint type is right for your pool?
On painted pool surfaces,
you must match the TYPE of paint you will use to the last paint type used on
your pool. This greatly increases the ability of the new coat to adhere to
the old one. Remember, paint type is
NOT brand of paint! If you are not
positive what type of paint was last used, you may purchase the Do-It-Yourself SAU-SEA
Solvents Test Kit from your SAU-SEA Dealer. This kit will help you avoid a costly
mistake that many pool owners make. If you are not a Do It Yourself person, you may purchase
a Chip Analysis kit as well. Common paint
types are rubber-base pool paint, epoxy pool paint, vinyl pool paint, etc.
For which paint to use on BARE, Unpainted or sandblasted pools, worn plaster
pools, unpainted gunite pools, fiberglass or concrete
pools, masonry pools—you can skip the chip analysis and
